Can't sleep....again.

Well, it's now 4:27am and I've been sitting here for about 2.5 hours. Everyone else (Tyler, Oscar, Riley and Carly) are all properly snoring, and yet Without a Trace is my only company. I was on call tonite for work, and when I called about 2pm, I was told that I was going to be needed. Well, about 5:30pm, when I was getting dressed, I got the phone call saying, nevermind. We don't need you. GREAT! Oh well. So I was able to spend an evening with the hubby, but I knew it was going to end up like this.

Went to Schlitterbahn today. First time as a season pass holder. YAY! Good friend Crystal and her family were there also. They have 2 kids so they're able to show me all the side-entrances, etc. to get around the tourists. WHOOP for being a local! Only need to go about 3 or 4 more times before the season pass has paid for it's self. :)

Well, the annual (or almost annual) Girls River Trip 2009 went off without [many] a hitch! Jamie, Sheree, Lucy, Rachel, Sabrina and I had an absolute blast. We missed Holly and Lorie, but we understand why they couldn't make it. We started Saturday morning at my house with a cold beer and some reminiscing. We loaded up in Sheree's (awesome) Tahoe and headed downtown. Because I have a season pass, we were able to park at the Resort at the Rapids and use that as our base camp for the day. While half the group distracted the poor, innocent tube-cage worker, the other half of us kidnapped the forbidden mesh-bottomed tube to use for the cooler. OOPS! We had a good, but short, float.

We got back to the 'hoe, had some sandwiches, and reapplied the sunscreen like the near-30 year olds that we are. We then started off for the 52 (or 1) mile hike to get to the city tube chute, at the insistence of Lucy. We even had to stop halfway for a beer break!

I will admit, it was fun, as always. We finished the second float and then headed back to my house for showers. A few beers and some squirts of perfume later, we were out the door to Gruene. We dined and drank at Mozie's. BTW, the "adult grilled cheese" is to DIE for!!!

Can't wait till next year!

Ta Da!! We have curtains!

I thought I was actually going to lose my mind. After buying not one, not two, but THREE sets of drapes/curtains, I have finally found a set that actually matches the comforter set in the middle bedroom. We have indeed lived in NB for over a year now, and the neighbors are still looking at the black and white Raiders blanket that used to cover my window when I first started working nights. Back to the curtains....I bought one set at Wal-Mart. The brown was too dark and the cream too light. Set #2 came from Target. The turquoise was too dark and the cream just right. Set #3 came from Target ONLINE, mind you I had a 1cm x 1cm square of the picture of the color I was choosing, to choose from. And what'dya know? They worked! And after I took the other sets back to Wally World and Target, I now have about $80 in cash in my wallet. (Good thing Tyler doesn't even know this blog exists, or my wallet would be empty already!)

Wonder what I'll do with all that extra dough......hmmmm.
